How to import or export contacts stored in SIM card (2024)
If you need to quickly transfer phone numbers from one device to another -exportingthem to the storage on your SIM card is an effective way - however, onlyphone numbers and names will be transferred to a SIM card. Any addresses, email addresses or other information will stay on the device.
You won't be able toadd any details to contacts that are stored on a SIM card, soimportingthem to your device or Google/Samsung accounts will allow you to add photos, email addresses and other information to each contact.
The step-by-step guides in the dropdowns below are organised by operating system.
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Contacts app .At the bottom, tap Fix & manage Import from SIM. If you have multiple accounts on your device, pick the account where you want to save the contacts.
Open your contacts app and click on 3 dots or 'more' option. Now select 'export to sim card' option to copy contacts from phone to sim card. Once you click on export, you will see a dialog box asking for confirmation. Give your go ahead.
Most smartphones no longer support storing their contacts on a SIM card. You may, however, transfer contacts from an old SIM card to your phone, provided the old SIM card will fit your phone.
