Top Ten Nalu Moments (2024)

(Note: These are just my personal favorites)

10. From Episode 86: Erza v. Erza

This is in the Edolas arc. Lucy worries over Natsu after she and Gray find him and Wendy unconscious. It isn't one of the main Nalu moments in the series, but for some reason I always remembered this. It also made a really cute screenshot.

9.From Episode 83: Extalia

"If you so much as put a scratch on Lucy, I'll turn you all into cinders" -Natsu Dragneel

Apparently Hughes and the rest of the Edolas gang didn't get the memo, but one does not simply say that Lucy is going to be executed. I can count on one hand the number of legitimate death threats Natsu has made throughout the series, and all of them have been somehow related to Lucy's safety.

8. From Episode 173: Battle of Dragon Slayers

Natsu goes to see Lucy in the infirmary before his battle against Sting and Rogue in the Grand Magic Games. She tells him that she's always believed in him since she first joined the guild, but we don't find out that's what she said until later.

7. From Episode 3: Infiltrate the Everlue Mansion

The legendary team is born! Natsu and Lucy officially become partners and take their first real quest together.

6. From Episode 73: Rainbow Sakura

Lucy catches a cold and can't go to the rainbow sakura viewing party with everyone else in the guild. So what does Natsu do? He uproots the city's prized tree and floats it down the river so she could look at it from her window! This is why I reject the notion that Natsu can't be romantic. This is among the most romantic things I've ever seen and HE'S NOT EVEN TRYING.

Just imagine how he's gonna propose to her someday.

5. From Episode 119: Realm of the Abyss

After his attack on Master Hades Natsu is exhausted and almost falls off a ledge. Lucy catches him, and loving looks ensue. What I find most interesting about this moment is that it shows how attentive Lucy is to Natsu. Erza, Gray, and Wendy were also there but no one else noticed him swaying and knew he was going to fall at that moment.

4. From Episode 198: Fields of Gold

After the Eclipse Gate is destroyed future Lucy's body disappears and she's reunited with her Natsu in the golden plains of paradise. Right after this, present Lucy feels tears on her face and runs up to Natsu, hugging him from behind. He asks her, "What's wrong?" and she replies, "Nothing. Just a feeling...thank you."

3. From Episode 159: Lucy v. Flare

After Lucy "loses" her fight against Flare (loses is in quotation marks because we all know Lucy didn't actually lose that fight, and I'm still mad about it lol) everyone is laughing at her, and Natsu goes into the stadium to praise and encourage her. She also uses his catchphrase, "I'm fired up" which is among the most adorable things that's ever happened. Period.

2. From Episode 22: Lucy Heartfilia

Ahh, the super trust fall. It was at this moment, precisely, that Nalu dethroned Sasusaku as my otp of otps. Lucy, who'd been captured by the Phantom Lord guild, jumps out of the insanely high window of her sky prison because she KNEW Natsu would be there to catch her. Even if you don't ship them romantically, the mutual trust between these two is one of the most beautiful things about their relationship.

1. From Episode 109: Lucy Fire

Where does one even begin with this episode? First we have Natsu and Lucy teaming up again, despite working against each other during the S-class trial. Then, in their battle against Kain, Natsu gets pinned down by some boulders and he tells Lucy to run away. She replies that she won't run because it's more fun when they're together. Then we get to see her using his dragon slayer magic (kind of). Kain's commentary about them acting like a couple is just the icing on the cake.
