Hampstead, which is less than half an hour from Central London by public transport, is the most expensive area to buy in London, with an average asking price of £1.77 million.

This area is typically associated with the rich and famous and features many shops, period properties and independent schools.

Camden

Camden, in Greater London, is the second most expensive area as the average asking price is £1.28 million.

It’s a popular area as it’s filled with shops, restaurants, and live entertainment and is also close to Primrose Hill, which offers amazing views of London.

It was recently flagged as one area in London least likely to experience huge price falls, according to Hamptons.

East Sheen

East Sheen, in south-west London, is the next most expensive area to buy with an average asking price of £1.13 million.

The suburb is close to Richmond Park, the River Thames and Kew Gardens, and has many shops and restaurants, making it an ideal location for families.

It only takes 30 minutes to travel from East Sheen to Central London.

Whetstone

Whetstone, in north London, has an average asking price of £1.06 million and is only around 40 minutes from Central London by public transport
