Appearance[]
Like her brother, Natsu has short and messy orange hair withdark brown eyes. Her hair is held up in low pig tails with green beaded hair ties. She's shown in a yellow sweater and lightly colored pants.
In the timeskip, she appears to have grown her hair and wears it in a ponytail. As part of Niiyama's team, she wears the number 10 jersey.
Personality[]
She is a loud and cheerful little girl, often jumping onto her brother as soon as he's home. She shows great interest in her brother, asking him to play with her, and likes to join in his practices at home.
Background[]
Natsu enjoys playing sports, and she lives with her mother and older brother Shōyō. Whilst her actual age is unknown, it can be assumed that she and Hinata have about a six-year age gap.
Plot[]
Throughout the series, Natsu has been seen asking her brother to play with her or yelling at him for being too loud. She hasn't had a major role in the plot yet.
Spring High Preliminary Arc[]
When Kenma announces his team's advance to nationals through a text,[1] Hinata was showering. Natsu notices and calls out to her brother, who rushes over. She leaves him alone as he cheers before he rushes outside. Alarmed, Natsu tells their mother, who yells at her son to get back inside.
Tokyo Nationals Arc[]
Natsu goes outside to see her brother practicing[2]. She asks to do it too and Hinata remarks that it's impossible for her. Indignant, Natsu claims that she's the best at anything athletic and tries a move Hinata shows her. She fails and Hinata laughs at her before showing her how he does it. Natsu remarks that it seems like Hinata and the ball have really become friends; in the past, Hinata had a lot of trouble with volleyball but now, he's doing well.
Final Arc[]
Natsu first appears in one of Hinata's flashbacks when he was in Rio when he remembers how she had gifted him a new wallet before leaving Japan, claiming that his old one was getting too worn out for him to keep using[3]. The gift was enough to cause her brother to be moved to tears.
Natsu later appears in another flashback when she is shown excitedly watching a volleyball match with her brother[4].
Statistics[]
While Natsu's statistics are currently unreleased, it can be inferred that she is good at volleyball, as she plays for the Niiyama Girls' High volleyball team, a team with a long running streak of going to nationals.
Relationships[]
Family/Karasuno High[]
- Shōyō Hinata: Natsu is Shōyō's younger sister. She often asks her brother to play jump rope with her and sometimes sleeps in his room with him, though on a separate mattress[5]. While they have a close relationship, they are shown to still pick on one another at times; such as when Hinata laughed at Natsu when she was unable to go through a volleyball formation he demonstrated.
Quotes[]
- (To Hinata) "Nii-chan... You're getting along with the ball now! It used to seem like the ball was a stranger. But you guys are like best friends now."[6]
