Mckinney ISD has been a blessing to my children. They have been exposed to a lot of different things such as the band and athletics. They have a diverse group of friends. The teachers are really involved and engaged. The principals seem to know the children and care about the safety of the students and teachers. They are really good with connecting with the community, with PTO activities, and other extracurricular activities.

My experience with McKinney High School has been an overall fun and unique experience. When asked about my experience, I can only look back at the people that have made the image of my experience. For Example Ms. Harkins, an English teacher at McKinney High has been my favorite English teacher that I have ever had. I never liked English and thought that it was not a necessity and did not understand the importance. Ms. Harkins changed my perspective by applying English to the real world and by also pushing me as a reader and writer. Another example of this is Mr. Fisher. Mr. Fisher is the Head Band Director at McKinney High School and a great mentor and teacher. Mr. Fisher strives for perfection and applied the same standard for me. Although hard at times, I reflect back on his teachings and realize how much I have improved not only in music but also in my character. I would love to see more teachers show take the same initiation as the people I have mentioned above.
