London's prices aren't a problem for the super-rich, plenty of whom call the city home. And that's been recently confirmed in the 2024 edition of the annual World's Wealthiest Cities Report by wealth migration firm Henley & Partners, where London (unsurprisingly) made the ranks.

There are more than 227,000 millionaires walking the streets of the capital, and 23,200 have found their home in the bee city. London was, unsurprisingly, rated as the fifth wealthiest city in the world (read more about that here), while Manchester (with Trafford) just made it onto the list in 50th place.

In 2022, London had a gross domestic product of over 508 billion British pounds, by far the most of any region of the United Kingdom. The region of South East England which surrounds London had the second-highest GDP in this year, at over 341 billion pounds.

Paris came in seventh in the world and second in Europe, with 165,000 liquid millionaires. Despite being home to the world's richest person, Bernard Arnault, the French capital also trails London in total billionaires, with 23 to London's 35.

The North West outranks London for self-made super-rich

The North West in particular, is a haven. Almost a quarter (22%) of Britain's wealthiest self-made millionaires and billionaires hail from the region, compared to just 19% from London (and with a population of almost one million less than the capital).
