My experience at Georgia State University has been overwhelmingly positive. The university offers a diverse and vibrant campus life, which has allowed me to meet people from all walks of life and engage in a variety of cultural and academic activities. The faculty is knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects, providing a rich learning environment. The location in downtown Atlanta is also a huge plus, giving students access to numerous internships and job opportunities in various industries.
However, I believe there are areas that could use improvement. For instance, the administrative processes can be quite cumbersome at times, and more support services for students could be beneficial. Additionally, expanding the resources available in the library and increasing the frequency of campus events would greatly enhance the overall student experience.

My experience at GSU has thankfully been free of violence, which is something that is typically common here in ATL. However, the student life, diversity, and party scene are a couple of key things to living on campus, that make it more memorable. As for changes, safety protocols could be even more strict. At GSU, there are accounts of violence and sexual assault more than I’d like to count, whether it be during the day or the night, this is a situation that GSU could have some self improvement on. As for the school itself, several of the professors are not very personable, and it is rare to find the very few professors that genuinely care about their job, their students, and the learning material they teach! Other than that, GSU is in the big city of ATL, and if you are someone who doesn’t mind traveling by foot, making sure you’re self aware in the city, and looking to have connections, it’s down here.

Overall, Georgia state is ok. Due to its location in downtown Atlanta safety is a tricky concern. I love the student involvement provided, and the activities are always fun! I would love to see more Housing provided and better communication with Financial Aid Office. It really is what you make it because you have the whole downtown at your fingertips, but it is a learning experience. I’ve had many highs and lows but I have definitely and grown into a self-sufficient adult. I would definitely recommend this university if you want a branch out, challenge yourself, and meet many different people.
