South Kensington is an excellent location in London to stay while visiting. Close to large parks, right on the main Piccadilly line and full of pubs, restaurants, and things to do. We enjoyed the walkability and the general liveliness of the area.

“South Ken”, as it's often referred to, is a destination area and historically one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in London. This makes it an area more resilient to price changes. Residents enjoy the fantastic connections, a wealth of amenities, and a sense of historical importance in the area.

South Kensington is home to many free museums including the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Science Museum. The Royal Albert Hall hosts many concerts, performances and even tennis, as well as the BBC Proms. Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and Kensington Palace are located in the area.

Kensington boasts some of London's most famous museums and adventure playgrounds; perfect for days out with kids. Enjoy a family day out in Kensington where free museums and open parks mean parents can find lots of activities for children to do, and plenty of hands-on things to learn.

South Kensington (IMO) is more convenient all round, and has a nicer ambience, generally. 'North' Kensington is more trendy (around Ladbroke Grove/Portobello Road/Notting Hill) but more inconvenient for sightseeing on the whole.
